WHY ARE YOUR PUBLIC STUDIO HOURS LIMITED?
1) Because "we" are often just a "me" - Nora Salem! As the Owner & Creative Director of BUD + BLOOM, Nora works with different teams of contractors on a project by project basis. This means she must maintain flexible availability to be on site for projects, as well as be able to privately utilize her own studio without interruption while she works.
2) Because it's available for others to enjoy and utilize for their own events and creative projects through space rentals.
WHAT'S A VISUAL ARTS STUDIO?
Since Nora is a multi-disciplined creative with a background in Fashion Design & Merchandising, Graphic Communications, Fine Art, Psychology, and Floristry, the term 'Visual Arts Studio' was created to encompass the full range of her skillset and allow for the diversity of services & projects in her portfolio.
TLDR; It's a place where a visual artist's full creative skillset is allowed to exist and flourish without the expectations or limitations of being forced to fit into just one single artistic box.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Full scope Creative Direction for photography, film, and company rebrands, Brand Development, Styling & Set Design, Custom Floral Design, and Space Creation. Learn more about our services here.
WHY DO YOU CHARGE CONSULTATION FEES?
We take every project seriously and are dedicated to providing exceptional service. The time and energy we put into consultations, as well as the curated deliverables we provide in the form of mood boards, mockups, 3D renderings, and project proposals, is not free. We understand this may deter some, however, as the old adage goes - you get what you pay for.
HOW CAN I SEE EXAMPLES OF YOUR WORK?
Our portfolio is currently being updated to feature the most exciting projects we've executed over the last 5 years. Please reach out directly to firstname.lastname@example.org with the service you're interested in hiring us for and we'll send you the relevant Look Book.
WHAT'S WITH THE CANNABIS LEAF LOGO?
After burning out from a career in frontline social services, the use of cannabis as plant medicine ended up reconnecting Nora with her spirituality as well as her true passion and purpose - changing the world through art & design. While Nora began BUD + BLOOM focused on cannaflorals - advocating for the cannabis plant by incorporating it into floral design - she soon realized she didn't need to limit herself and began taking on projects that allowed her to help others with her wide array of gifts and talents. Eventually, BUD + BLOOM aggressively blossomed into the Visual Arts Studio you see today.
WHAT'S A CANNAFLORAL?
Exactly what it sounds like - a floral design that incorporates cannabis!
WHAT'S A SOBER FLORAL?
Also exactly what it sounds like - a floral design that has zero cannabis!
HOW DO I ORDER A CANNAFLORAL ARRANGEMENT?
All floral arrangements are custom made to order, simply fill out the online order form, select the cannafloral option, and outline whether you want to incorporate foliage, products, or both. All that's left after that is providing the cannabis products of your choice within 1 day of your order's fulfillment. While this means you purchase the cannabis products yourself, it also means that you only pay the price of the floral arrangement. There is no additional cost for the special cannatouch!
DO I HAVE TO BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER?
Yes. Valid ID is required when you provide the desired product(s) you want used in the design.
CAN YOU GET HIGH OFF CANNABIS LEAVES?
You can try...but sadly, no. All foliage used is non-flowering unless otherwise provided by the client. Since the cannabis flower (or bud) is where THC (the psychoactive component) is primarily produced, consuming the foliage will leave you as sober as you started, and likely very disappointed. You're welcome for the pun, though.
WHAT IF I DON'T WANT CANNABIS IN MY FLORALS?
No worries, boo! We do sober florals too!
I WANT TO INCORPORATE CANNABIS INTO MY WEDDING OR EVENT BUT I'M OVERWHELMED BY THE LEGISLATION, DO YOU PROVIDE CONSULTATION ON THAT AS WELL?
Absolutely, we will guide you through the regulations and answer your questions to the best of our abilities. If we don't know, we'll make the calls for you and ensure your day is compliantly enhanced.
HOW DO I ENSURE ALL MY CANNABIS PRODUCT(S) IS USED IN THE ARRANGEMENT?
When you drop off your products, a disclaimer form will be signed detailing the type of cannabis products and the amount provided for quality assurance and to ensure there are no conflicts. Providing your bud in its original packaging is also encouraged for storage purposes. Should portions of bud not be used in your design, they will be returned to you in the packaging provided.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS?
No, cannabis incorporation is provided free of charge. You simply pay the cost of the florals and design fee as you would any other floral professional.
HOW ARE PRODUCTS HANDLED WHILE IN YOUR CARE?
All products provided are either stored in their original airtight container or placed in an airtight container upon receipt until the arrangement is ready for their addition. At this point, the products are removed from the containers and handled carefully while wearing latex gloves for health & safety.
IS IT SAFE TO CONSUME CANNABIS PRODUCTS AFTER THEY ARE USED IN AN ARRANGEMENT?
Absolutely! Any flowers or fillers that may cause harmful cross contamination with cannabis, such as Lily of the Valley, will not be used in cannafloral designs. We prefer you alive, thanks!
IS IT SAFE TO DRY & CONSUME ANY OF THE FRESH FLORALS AFTER THEY ARE USED IN AN ARRANGEMENT?
While some flowers can be dried and smoked with cannabis to add to the terpene profile (such as rose or lavender), we do not recommend this since we purchase flowers for commercial use, not food-grade use. More research in this area is also still needed, so any consumption is at each individual's risk should they wish to experiment with drying their flowers. Seriously though, we prefer you alive...so just don't.
